HOW TO ORGANIZED CHILDREN’S ART SUPPLIES (SIMPLE & EASY TIPS)

My children like engaging in imaginative play, and I find it very satisfying to have things on hand for those times when their creativity goes into overdrive. A little bit of creative quiet time is a great addition to the go go go pace of the summer now that all three of them are out of school for a couple of months. Throughout the span of this site, I’ve provided several different ways to arrange art supplies for children. In many instances, my systems have entailed maintaining a high level of surveillance and tight containment of the supplies. But I’m grateful that my three children are now of an age where I don’t have to worry about things like coloring the walls or cutting their hair before I can set up a station like this.

I was also looking desperately for a system that didn’t appear like it was made for children’s art supplies and didn’t yell “kids art supplies riiiiiight here!” Why? Because our playroom, which is also where the supplies are stored, is located in a primary area of the house that guests will pass through. The white door that you can see on both sides is where we enter and exit…

HOW TO ORGANIZED CHILDREN’S ART SUPPLIES

When I enter into a room and find that it has been cleaned up and decorated nicely, it makes my organizer’s eye happy. This bookshelf, which was really on its way out of the house two weeks ago and made a pit stop here… is the most recent addition to my collection of pieces that I use to keep the materials organized.

It had been in my daughter’s closet in the past, but once I installed a couple of bookcases as part of her closet system, there was no longer a requirement for this particular item. As I was leaving the house, I had the idea that it would be a good idea to keep it until I found something that was more suitable for the art supplies. And for the past two weeks, it has been performing its duties admirably…

There was no requirement for something of this size because there was already open shelves to the right. During my shopping trips over the past few weeks, I kept an eye out for anything that combined aesthetic appeal with practicality. Something tucked away in this nook that I wouldn’t mind coming across. Last week, I went to Marshall’s and discovered the perfect piece there. (Just so you know, they are not paying me to discuss this topic!) It’s possible that none of you will believe me when I say this, but prior to tonight, I had never set foot inside a Marshall’s. That shop is fantastic! They feature a wide assortment of organizational supplies, which was the selling point for me. *Cue the heart eye emoji*

My friend told me that she was able to get children’s swim goggles from well-known brands for a total of five dollars each. If you have children, you may empathize with the frustration of mothers all over the world who spend an excessive amount of money on goggles only to have their children lose them within a few days of the start of the swimming season. As soon as she made that remark, I made a beeline for the closest store to see whether they still had any in stock. They did…and in addition to that, they had this!…

I had a good sense of what would be included, so I was able to determine that this would be an excellent addition to our art material collection. In addition, I really like the baskets and the wooden frame. It’s really… me!…

As you can see, not only is it attractive, but it’s also vibrant! I organized the washable markers, twistable crayons, coloring pencils, and ordinary pencils that were in the tins on the top shelf. Crayons were stored in the second basket that I had, along with an additional inexpensive container from Target that held scissors, erasers, and tape…

Fits so snugly into the nook, and, to my eyes, it’s quite attractive, despite the fact that it conceals a great deal of amusement. You’ll note that there are some additional items stored on the shelving to the right…

The three magazine files, which were also purchased from the dollar spot at Target a few years ago, are used to store a variety of colored card stock and construction papers. The pads of blank paper make up the small stack that is located next to the folders…

This shelf is very reminiscent of something that may be purchased from Pottery Barn. Don’t forget that you can avoid shopping in more pricey establishments… Check out bargain retailers such as Home Goods, TJ Maxx, or Marshall’s in your area for a wide selection of high-quality organization products at low prices. In addition, I am confident that in the event that the children are no longer interested in utilizing this component, I will quickly think of another application for it.
